I've been standing here
Staring at the mirror
The voices in my ear
Is not my friend
I know you're sad and blue
I know, and I am too

And now I'm on the train
I see your writing on the wall
says:
Love is innocent
Love is innocent

You're always on my mind
And time is standing still now
The words that were unkind
Are here again
You're faded from my view
I know that I am too

And now I'm on the train
I see your writing on the wall
says:
Love is innocent
Love is innocent

Now the whistle is blowing
It's time to get on board
There's no way now of knowing
Where it will, where it will stop

I know it's up to me
I'm gonna try and pick up the pieces
I have to find a scene
With a better view
I know you're sad and blue
I know, and I am too

And now I'm on the train
I see your writing on the wall
says:
Love is innocent
Love is innocent

General CommentNo need to explain this song. All of Colin's songs are so simple, plain...naked. Yet so beautiful and tempting, describing the situation so graceful, making the listener add his own feelings and pictures. Pure magic.

It's not easy to make songs like these without them ending up being flat and pretentious in a somewhat bizarre meaning. I hope Mr. Hay's intensions are to keep writing songs like these.
