Shirtless, sheetless and sleepless on the edge of your queen-sized bed,
Last night I didn't wanna move you cause your tendons were tight,
You said I'd be the one you remember as self-obsessed,
'Cause every fucking word that I tell you is really self-addressed,
Sure you saw me naked but I never took my make-up off,
You don't need me, your girlfriend goes cognito no nose mustache on,
And plus my eyeballs occupy the sockets like a half-dead doll,
So maybe you could kill me off in one of your songs?
'Cause I'm not thrilled about anything,
I don't place bets on anything,
I'm not thrilled about anything...anything at all...

Sounds like it's told from the point of view of a woman.

yeah i'm pretty sure that every line after "you said i'd be the one you remember as self-obsessed" is what the girl is saying...
anyway, i just heard this song for the first time and its really good. yay yoni!

see i totally disagree, i feel like it's yoni talking about doseone or one of the other anticon guys because he specifically mentions "So maybe you could kill me off in one of your songs?" after the confusing girlfriend line. and i'm 99% sure this is from yoni's perspective because he mentions his "half-dead" eyeballs -- yoni has a lazy eye that he mentions in some of his other songs.

definitely one of his more sincere sounding songs, which makes me want to believe it's about a strange relationship with another guy.

    My Interpretation

Perhaps the not taking the make-up off line is metaphorical make-up. A guy's make-up is the... social wall one puts up with another person if they don't know them well enough to be totally comfortable.

I love the line 'every fucking word that I tell you is really self-addressed'; it applies to several people I've had relationships with, and myself.

The way apathy is portrayed in the last half of the song - I identify with that too :)

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.

Midnight
Ed Sheeran
“Midnight” is a song about finding a love that is so true that it provides a calming feeling through every storm. Ed Sheeran reflects on his good fortunes in landing someone with such peace and support and speaks of not fearing the dark days because he knows they’ll all end in the safety nets of her arms. “Well, good morning there / What a way to start the day / With everything laid bare,” Ed Sheeran sings in the first verse, enthusiastic to be waking up beside his woman. He apologizes for missing her calls in the second verse and promises to return them because for him, speaking to her is the most important thing. “Well, I get lost inside my head / In this chaos, you’re my calm / And I will find my feet again / ‘Cause еven the worst days of my life will always еnd / At midnight in your arms,” sings Ed Sheeran in the chorus, revelling in his good luck.
