She’s a thunderbolt.
With guns & fire,
Two arms full of holes,
And nothing to hold.
She’s a restless sort
With secrets that wait
On corners in the dark,
To pinch with a pain,
To sting and to smart

God knows it gets so hard
To keep out the cold,
When you’re living in a house full of holes.

He’s just a close call
Who always acts tough,
But goes way too far,
Or not far enough.
But someday when it gets hard,
Hard just to breathe,
She’ll rest assured that
He’ll take the heat

God knows it gets so hard
To keep out the cold,
When you’re living in a house full of holes.

She’s a thunderbolt.
With guns & fire,
Two arms full of holes,
And nothing to hold.
Nothing to hold.

General CommentThis is a most melancholy song... I think he describes loneliness so well and the melody is very evocative.

General CommentThis is a beautiful song. In my opinion this is a better song than the more popular, "something pretty." Park is an amazing musician worthy mention

General Commentthe holes in the house and in her arms, would be how her heart is burning out.
home is where the heart is, and she wears her heart on her sleeve, and her soul and heart is so full of fire and guns that it burns everything. The coldness of the house is slowly destroying this girl.
then someone comes, to share the heat, and shares it with her. he's not perfect either, either goes too far or not far enough, but nothing's perfect.and he'll save her from the house that will fall down.

'nothing to hold' after all this she has nothing left.still.
i dont know if he's just repeating that for the song factor, but if not, then it leaves a really sad song even sadder. there's no happy ending.
    aaaaa...

General CommentThink the post above me reads a little too far into things.

I think it talks about a girl that's a bit of a loose cannon. She's bitter, cold, and leaves others shut out. When her lovers do find out her secrets and her thoughts, they find out too late, her relationships are always doomed (secrets that wait on corners in the dark to sting, nothing to hold, etc)

"God knows it gets so hard" to keep a relationship going when one party won't share anything with the other. The relationship has holes.

General Commenti think the jist of the song is that things are missing in her life-
    "Two arms full of holes,
    And nothing to hold."
and that makes it hard not to be sad
