This is one of my favorite songs. https://fnfgo.io
you're looking quite sharp, sugar
you've got some teeth on that stare
you've got them tattered blue jeans on
you've done that thing with your hair
this bed could use a secret
and these pounding hearts could keep it
if you could i could
i swear
cause you turned me on
and i'd like to know if you were trying
and angel we are so gone
by tonight
the earth bursts open
we shed this clothing
you'll see my from the
angle that you missed
nothing exists but this
you're looking high strung sugar
why don't you sink a little bit
into the sea of sweat
our skin can spit
it was good to keep me guessing
cause you know i hate attention
but can we get down to it
you've got some teeth on that stare
you've got them tattered blue jeans on
you've done that thing with your hair
this bed could use a secret
and these pounding hearts could keep it
if you could i could
i swear
cause you turned me on
and i'd like to know if you were trying
and angel we are so gone
by tonight
the earth bursts open
we shed this clothing
you'll see my from the
angle that you missed
nothing exists but this
you're looking high strung sugar
why don't you sink a little bit
into the sea of sweat
our skin can spit
it was good to keep me guessing
cause you know i hate attention
but can we get down to it

This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Uh, all I know is this song is dead SEXY.
Amen.
I don't know if the girl is a cocktease. Could be. But I feel like its a guy that really likes this chick and now he wants to cattlepod the oyster ditch with the lap rocket.
maybe i'm a big softie, but i think this song is so much more beautiful than what you guys have been interpreting it as. i see it as a couple in love having sex for the first time, and it's all parts lust and love and amazement and all of that.
He is being lead on and he can't take it anymore. Simple.
this girl/person he's dealing with is being a cocktease
I think it's just about a girl he likes and he's basically asking her to have sex with him.
haha oh my god drza.. nice reference to bloodhound gang. great song.
Close to miki, it's two people that have overlooked each other but finally realize they're in love. They end up having sex for the first time.
are you kidding? every word oozes condescension. who calls another "sugar" sincerely that's not some waitress at wafflehouse in southern america? esp when he says that the skin "spits"; that's not the most delicate way he could describe sweating. If anything, it's depraved and slimy. I love how current popular songs deprave and demean women. This theme runs rampant these days.
Sugarbear, lighten up. Every word? Truly? The word "tonight" as well? Honey, sluts and whores don't usually get acoustic songs, but I guess weirder stuff has happened-like this comment.
It's weird to me, that you complained under one of my favorite songs. Don't like it? Then don't listen to it, and certainly don't seek it out on a lyrics site, just to whine about its message.
It's like you just let off a pile of doo in my garden, just because you don't like the color of my roses. It's just rude.
You hate it, so you looked it up and commented on it? Nothing better to do? I'm a woman, I love this song, and I call everyone sugar, despite the fact that I don't work in a waffle house.
Generalities...they make you look ignorant.
The guy and girl deny their love for each other but ultimately realize their mutual attraction.
