everyone thinks this song is about cheating lovers and sex. i mean, this song is obviously about being in love, but personally i believe it goes much deeper. "Sharing different heartbeats in one night To call for hands from above to lean on Would that be good enough?" maybe the person he loved the most had passed away, thus, to call her hand from "above" to lean on. "would that be good enough" because his love is not physically there. "We had a promise made Four hands and then away" - this could be how they were in love, a promise of togetherness, and then she passed away. "One night to push and scream And then relief" - this DEFIANTLY sounds like sex, no doubt. but this could also be continuing there lives together. they fell in love, had sex, got pregnant, which could be "and you, kept us awake with wolf teeths" hormones. and then one day of pushing and screaming and then relief when they had a child together. This could be about anything, no one really knows. but personally, i feel that he is explaining a story about how he fell in love, started something magical which led to family and a good life, until his love died. he repeats to call her hands from above twice in the last two verses of the song. my guess, he really misses her.
