I wait around from this still small center
From state to center
Well which one is it?
Just who do you think you are?
(Who do you think you are?)

Well who did you come to
Well is it who I think it is I swear to god
Well is it who I think it is?

You always knew it was on purpose
Yeah what's the point if it don't serve it's purpose
Splits up to focus your eyes couldn't swell
You're built from distractions so brilliantly dull
Well I had a better friend in my worst ..
That I'd rather have then either one of you

Well I never made a scene
(Well they came to me)
I never made a scene
Well they came to me
I didn't have to I didn't have to
Well I never made a scene
I didn't have to I didn't have to
Well I never made a scene

I always know to avoid the issue
Got me alone so I couldn't address you
Don't do this where your making love
Don't get yourself confused
Besides what's it to you?
Well I'm training in my conscience for your
For your confidence
Attacked my lungs with lies still past the time

I didn't have to I didn't have to
I never made a scene
I didn't have I didn't have to
Well I never made a scene
I didn't have to I didn't have to
Well I never made a scene
I didn't have to I didn't have to
Well I never made a scene

I never made a scene
Well they came to me
I never made a scene
Well they came to me

I didn't have to I didn't have to
Well I never made a scene
I didn't have to I didn't have to
Well I never made a scene
I didn't have to I didn't have to
Well I never made a scene
I didn't have to I didn't have to
Well I never made a scene

I like this song a lot- I think this is one of the few TBS V.2 songs I've heard that tries to at least differentiate itself a tiny little bit- this doesn't come off as trying to be Taking Back Sunday. I don't love it, I like it a lot- it's catchy.

It's not good enough to make me think this album isn't a dissapointment, though.

"this doesn't come off as trying to be Taking Back Sunday."

you were making a great point and then you go and say that. they are Taking Back Sunday so how can they try to be Taking Back Sunday?

I'm not dissapointed with the new TBS, because i've realised that you cant compare to TAYF. It was/is a fkn good album, but those heights have been reached in that album, TBS never meant to reach them again, but they are still TBS, and i still love the new album.

You always knew he was unperfect ==> You always knew he wasnt perfect ( not perfect is imperfect, not unperfect )

Got me a loan so I couldn't address you = = > got me alone so ... ( got me a loan doesn't make any sense)

    theres my thoughts on that

For the record, these are actually very, very good lyrics, and the first time I've seen lyrics this good on the new album.

Would I have a better friend if I was so blessed? Would I have a better friend if I were one of you?

he definitely says, "either" in the last line...

::sigh:: this song reminds me of a situation with an old friend of mine. I wish she could hear it.

Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

When We Were Young
Blink-182
This is a sequel to 2001's "Reckless Abandon", and features the band looking back on their clumsy youth fondly.

“Head > Heels” is a track that aims to capture what it feels like to experience romance that exceeds expectations. Ed Sheeran dedicates his album outro to a lover who has blessed him with a unique experience that he seeks to describe through the song’s nuanced lyrics.

American Town
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran shares a short story of reconnecting with an old flame on “American Town.” The track is about a holiday Ed Sheeran spends with his countrywoman who resides in America. The two are back together after a long period apart, and get around to enjoying a bunch of fun activities while rekindling the flames of their romance.
