Well, I saw fireworks from the freeway
And behind closed eyes, I cannot make them go away
'Cause you were born on the fourth of july, freedom ring
Well, something on the surface, it stings
I said, something on the surface, well, it kinda makes me nervous
Who says that you deserve this? And what kind of god would serve this?
We will cure this dirty old disease
Well, if you've gots the poison, I've gots the remedy

The remedy is the experience
This is a dangerous liaison
I says, the comedy is that it's serious
This is a strange enough new play on words
I say the tragedy is how you're gonna spend
The rest of your nights with the light on
So shine the light on all of your friends
When it all amounts to nothing in the end

I
I won't worry my life away
Hey, oh, oh
I
I won't worry my life away
Hey, oh, oh

Well, I heard two men talking on the radio
In a crossfire kind of new reality show
Uncovering the ways to plan the next big attack
While they were counting down the ways to stab the brother in the
Be right back after this, the unavoidable kiss
Where the minty fresh death breath
Is sure to outlast this catastrophe, dance with me
'Cause if you've gots the poison, I've gots the remedy

The remedy is the experience
This is a dangerous liaison
I says the comedy is that it's serious
This is a strange enough new play on words
I say the tragedy is how you're gonna spend
The rest of your nights with the light on
So shine the light on all of your friends
When it all amounts to nothing in the end

I
I won't worry my life away
Hey, oh, oh
I (I won't, I won't, I won't)
I won't worry my life away
Hey, oh, oh

When I fall in love (i fall in love)
I take my time
There's no need to hurry when I'm making up my mind
You can turn off the sun (turn off the sun)
But I'm still gonna shine
And I'll tell you why

Because the remedy is the experience
This is a dangerous liaison
I says the comedy is that it's serious
This is a strange enough new play on words
I say the tragedy is how you're gonna spend
The rest of your nights with the light on
So shine the light on all of your friends
When it all amounts to nothing in the end

I ('cause I won't)
I won't worry my life away
Hey, oh, oh
I (I won't, I won't, I won't)
I won't worry my life away
(I won't worry my life)
I (and I won't)
I won't worry my life away (no)
I ('cause I won't, and I won't, and I won't)
I won't worry my life away
Hey, oh, oh
I (I won't, I won't, I won't)
I won't worry my life away
I (I won't, I won't, I won't)
I won't worry my life away

i posted this as a comment to my other post. didnt realse..

but this is a quite from jason himself on the song being about his friend who had cancer...

(its nothing to do with religion or politics..)

Mraz co-wrote "The Remedy" with Avril Lavigne hitmakers the Matrix and although the song is catchier than a commercial jingle – particularly the chorus: "The remedy is the experience/ It is a dangerous liaison" – it was actually inspired by a close friend who survived bone cancer.

"It was just such a surprise, you know? Like, we grew up together, we drank the same water, everything we did was identical, so why do I have a record deal and why is he in the hospital?" Mraz recalled. "That was kind of the initial feeling, but we spoke every day and he was like, 'Dude, don't sweat it, you know? I'm just going to go into the hospital, get this done, no big deal.' And he did.

"Cancer treatment is a very positive experience," he continued. "Everybody I've met anyway, they keep the most positive attitude because it really is the power of positive thinking that heals, and that's what the song is about ... and I kind of let the idea that I learned through him and through the ordeal flow over into a healing song for all of America and all of its recent tragedies as well."

One day while I was at work, I really listened to this song at it suddenly struck me that it might be a war protest. The US, of course, was "born on the fourth of July" and the "something on the surface stinging" is the war. Then there are the references to the cross-fire show (debates about our role in the conflict) and backstabbing the brother. The tragedy of spending the rest of your nights with the light on reflects the artist's view that everyone is so terrified of being bombed or attacked that they can't sleep at night. Is anyone else seeing this. or am I just nuts?

    My Opinion

This song is great... I agree, the tune and rhythm are very peppy, but the lyrics are rather grim.

Hmm... you all think this is a sad song? I definatly think its not meant to be that way. I mean that chorus is " I wont worry my life away" which for me kind of relives some kind of stress.. like hey why worry about this shit....? its all good ;)

Knowing too much is a lot worse than not knowing enough. The second verse is my favorite- he's saying that people are happy when they are naive and are miserable once the illusion has been exposed and they have been enlightened. We shouldn't try to analyze everthing in our lives- we should just enjoy it.

I saw fireworks from the freeway and behind closed eyes I cannot make them go away Cause you were born on the fourth of july, freedom ring now something on the surface it stings that something on the surface it kind of makes me nervous who says that you deserve this and what kind of god would serve this?

[his friend charlie has cancer, but he doesn't deserve it. what kind of god would give charlie cancer?]

We will cure this dirty old disease if you've got the poison I've got the remedy

[he wants to be able to cure the cancer..i think this line has a double meaning. he wants to be able to cure life being too short, with too much worrying and stress to really enjoy it. he doesn't have the cure for cancer, but he has the cure for wasting the short time we have in our life.]

the remedy is the experience. It is a dangerous liaison

[the way to not waste your life is to take a risk.]

I say the comedy is that its serious. Which is a strange enough new play on words

[it's a new way to look at things]

I say the tragedy is how youre gonna spend the rest of your nights with the light on

[you're going to waste away your life worrying]

So shine the light on all of your friends because it all amounts to nothing in the end.

[give your friends some time to shine too, because in the end all the attention that's been focused on you doesn't really matter.]

I wont worry my life away. I wont worry my life away.

    [um..self explanatory.]

I heard two men talking on the radio in a cross fire kind of new reality show Uncovering the ways to plan the next big attack they were counting down the days to stab the brother in the be right back after this

[fighting..planning on stabbing one of their "friends" in the back..why fight when there's so little time here?..i don't really understand this part.]

the unavoidable kiss, where the minty fresh death breath is sure to outlast his catastrophy dance with me, because if you've got the poison, I've got the remedy

[i don't get this part either, but i love when he says "dance with me" :D ]

When I fall in love I take my time There's no need to hurry when I'm making up my mind

[he doesn't waste his time on fake "loves" because he needs to find his only real love]

You can turn off the sun but I'm still gonna shine and I'll tell you why

[he's still going to shine because he knows that if you don't worry, then you will be fine.]

[overall, this song is about how short life is..he realized how short it is when his friend got cancer. trust me, i know how it feels when someone you know has cancer. it's a slap in the face of how vulnerable we really are, and how we take everything for granted. it's a good song.

jadespider...wow that's a really good thought! i would have never thought of this song that way lol. but wow yeah it makes sense to be about war. after i read that i listened to it and it sounded like a whole new song :] that's why i love this website

wow; i never thought about the cancer scenario. but I was born on the fourth of july; so i was like "HEYYYYYY THATS SO COOOOOOL." but probably because I didnt listen far enough into the lyrics. me and my brother said that if a murderer were to come in the house while you were listening to this they'd be like "hey, maybe I dont wanna kill you anymore." it makes me really happy.

I listen to this song everyday while I'm getting ready for school and when I'm about to head to bed. I'm completely in love with it. My life almost ended because of someones stupid mistake and this song just reminds me to take things day by day and to enjoy my life because it can all end so suddenly.

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.
