This is about bronies. They communicate by stomping.
These words, fall from your mouth,
and stab me in the back
It should have never come to this
Its too late, for your apologies
They can't bring back all that you've taken from me
Stripped of my pride, and left for dead
This time is the last time I take this abuse
I've found my place, and this place is far away from you
How can you say, I'm at fault? The one to blame is you
Stripped of my pride, and left for dead
I'm so tired of apologizing to myself for you
And what you've done to me
And I've tried, to forgive myself for caring about you
There's nothing I can do...
This time is the last time I take this abuse
I've found my place, and this place is far away from you
I'm so tired of apologizing to myself for you
And what you've done to me
And I've tried, to forgive myself for caring about you
There's nothing I can do...
and stab me in the back
It should have never come to this
Its too late, for your apologies

Same ideas expressed in Fitter, Happier are expressed in this song. We're told to strive for some sort of ideal life, which includes getting a good job, being kind to everyone, finding a partner, getting married, having a couple kids, living in a quiet neighborhood in a nice big house, etc. But in Fitter, Happier the narrator(?) realizes that it's incredibly robotic to live this life. People are being used by those in power "like a pig in a cage on antibiotics"--being pacified with things like new phones and cool gadgets and houses while being sucked dry. On No Surprises, the narrator is realizing how this life is killing him slowly. In the video, his helmet is slowly filling up with water, drowning him. But he's so complacent with it. This is a good summary of the song. This boring, "perfect" life foisted upon us by some higher powers (not spiritual, but political, economic, etc. politicians and businessmen, perhaps) is not the way to live. But there is seemingly no way out but death. He'd rather die peacefully right now than live in this cage. While our lives are often shielded, we're in our own protective bubbles, or protective helmets like the one Thom wears, if we look a little harder we can see all the corruption, lies, manipulation, etc. that is going on in the world, often run by huge yet nearly invisible organizations, corporations, and 'leaders'. It's a very hopeless song because it reflects real life.

I love these lyrics "I'm so tired of apologizing to myself for you and what you've done to me And I've tried, to forgive myself for caring about you Theres nothing I can do This time is the last time I take this abuse I've found my place, and this place is far away from you "
my ex and i had problems and i kept trying to make excuses for what happened in the relationship on things that werent really my fault and I wanted to hate him, but I couldnt! Then some really messed up shit happened (which i wont go into detail) and I was finally like, that's the last straw, and now I've found my place, I'm happy without him, and I don't want him in my life anymore It's like it was written for me! yea
they are so poetic .. lyrics are amazing..
i played this song w/ some friends of mine in the winter. we decided its possibly one of the best songs, ever. from the drum beat in the beginning, to the second guitar work, and awesome singing. its just awesome. the lyrics, self-explanatory, are awesome, and the whole song is just a piece of art.
Whoever writes MR's songs must have been through something similar to me because a lot of their songs are about the same situation so it seems...and i can relate to almost all of them.
