There's no reason
There's no compromise
Change in seasons
Living the high life
I don't know you
So don't freak on me
I can't control you
You're not my destiny

Straight out of line
I can't find a reason
Why I should justify my ways
Straight out of line
I don't need a reason
You don't need to lie to me

I'll confess this you're my tragedy
I paid you to rest this
As fast as you turned on me
Gone for ever
Vanished the memories
This face of pleasure
Are masked by your misery

Straight out of line
I can't find a reason
Why I should justify my ways
Straight out of line
I don't need a reason
You don't need to lie to me
Lie to me

Straight out of line
I can't find a reason
Why I should justify my ways
Straight out of line
I don't need a reason
You don't need to, don't need to lie to me

Lie to me
Lie to me
Lie to me

this may just be the greastest Godsmack song ever. the lyrics are great, and they're an awesome band. it almost expresses how sully (the singer) feels about society, and the people around him. for those of you who hate godsmack, well, go away

Argh I just did some really mean things to someone and I feel really guilty and all I feel like saying to them now I've heard this song is: "Straight out of line/ I can't find a reason/ Why I should justify my ways/ Straight out of line/ I dont need a reason/ You don't need to lie to me" But I'd probably get hit.

Shannon Larkin is probably one of the greatest drummers ever he created such an amazing stlye unlike anything i've ever seen before he is my favorite drummer. I sort of modeled my stlye after him. Yeah go ahead say i'm riping him of but it's only when i play godsmack songs do i use his stlye ya know just to give the viewer a awsome feel like godsmack gives off. But when i play my bands own songs you can tell he plays and inspiration roll but i don't rip him off.

it rocks, it is great, their new drummer is sooo crazy, and awesome. there is no way anyone with a respectable taste in music doesn't like them.

In an interview Sully said that this song is about how people were saying how the band was changing...but it's really the people changing. He also said they related to the Little Engine that Could in that other bands go up really fast and back down but these guys are taking it all one step at a time.

yes this song is awesome as is the entire "Faceless" album. Godsmack has gotta be one of the few bands of today that make good music

oh, king nothing, i heard Sully say in an interview that Tommy left due to disputes about which direction to take in their music.

or something like that. sorry i have a bad memory

Yes, I now realize that Godsmack may be actually trying to "be" the bands that inspired them. i.e.: Metallica, Pantera, especially Alice in Chains (they even released an acoustic EP now). If it weren't for Tony's excellent guitar playing I wouldn't even pay this band any mind.

By the way, Tommy was thrown out because he required too much maintenance.

Techno Ted
Audioslave
Techno Ted may be a person who caused Chris incredible emotional pain & trepidation as well as moments of peace & happiness but now is removed and awaiting his fate. Darling may be a different person who is also free of him and can live her life free of Ted's tyranny. "In between all the laughing, and daydreams ... lies: a desert of truth" Lies are like a desert or the omission of Truth: Where there were Lies then Truth was absent. The song, "Techno Ted", may be a cathartic celebration of the downfall of this person.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Dreamwalker
Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.
