Kitty calls me on the phone to say she's all alone and needs somebody there
Crystal sees into the future - tells me that she's not so sure that Roger really cares
I sit and wonder if we are sharing a a different world
and all these naked emotions whirling around me swirl
I'm in love with everybody's girl

Look at Brenda there with Lou - she's giving him the boot, aw, but Kelly's standin' by
And here comes my man (?John?) asks her 'do you wanna' but I never even try
I sit and wonder if we are sharing a different world
and all these TV emotions making the channels twirl
I'm in love...

I'm spendin cinco de mayo with my Marie
Celebratin independance with little Emily
And if the new year should find you without Jennine
There she'll be
You'll find her under my tree wrapped up and waitin for me

If you call me on the phone don't ever weep and moan you'll always find me there
and if you see in to the future be so kind as not to tell me what you find out there
we'll lie in bed watchin reruns of another world
just like a drunk ballerina stuck on a tilt-o-whirl

I'm in love with everybody's...

The guy is single, but happy with it. His other friends are stuck in relationships but he's free and beds whoever he wants even if they're already taken. He doesn't see himself as a home wrecker because he gives the girls what their partners can't--listening and maybe better sex.

The lyric "and if you see in to the future be so kind as not to tell me what you find out there" shows a slight dark side to the song, because though he is single and can have it all, the girls who like him can't have all of him....he won't be a boyfriend because there's too many girls to share himself with. Basically about sexual freedom, though some people would call that bein a whore!

Such a catchy song. Seems to be about crushing on all his friends girlfriends, who for whatever reason always complain to him.

Fortnight
Taylor Swift
The song 'Fortnight' by Taylor Swift and Post Malone tells a story about strong feelings, complicated relationships, and secret wishes. It talks about love, betrayal, and wanting someone who doesn't feel the same. The word 'fortnight' shows short-lived happiness and guilty pleasures, leading to sadness. It shows how messy relationships can be and the results of hiding emotions. “I was supposed to be sent away / But they forgot to come and get me,” she kickstarts the song in the first verse with lines suggesting an admission to a hospital for people with mental illnesses. She goes in the verse admitting her lover is the reason why she is like this. In the chorus, she sings about their time in love and reflects on how he has now settled with someone else. “I took the miracle move-on drug, the effects were temporary / And I love you, it’s ruining my life,” on the second verse she details her struggles to forget about him and the negative effects of her failure. “Thought of callin’ ya, but you won’t pick up / ‘Nother fortnight lost in America,” Post Malone sings in the outro.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.
