watch out now

angry girl is always putting other girls down
always yelling at me 'cause i don't mind when they're around
she spends her time backing up her image
she says she's not like them, not gossipy or timid

now she's angry, now she's mad
always telling everyone that she made up the fad
always telling me i should or i shouldn't
always testing me and testing me and it's making me mad

evil girl you met somehow you're dating and it's great, yeah
love, love, kiss, kiss, kiss, a lot of sex, you're soul mates
she loved you cause you're sweet and cute i mean
she loved you cause you got her known, you brought her on the scene

well now she's dumped you, now she's gone
at 18 and 22 is when they drop the bomb
and now she needs someone new to make her big, to make her scene
the best thing in your world is now the worst thing after all

evil girl angry girl
aw, are these my choices?
evil girl angry girl
the girl i want is just a myth

when the sun goes down in this Allston town
my head in my hand, a beginning and an end
i'll sit and wonder, wonder if i ever really wanted it

when the sun goes down with my Boston crowd
while i'm staring at my friends hoping this will never end
i sit and wonder, wonder why she never really wanted it

evil girl angry girl
aw, are these my choices?
evil girl angry girl
the girl i want is just a myth

[trombone solo]

imagination girl please come save me, imagination girl
imagination girl please come save me in an imagination world
one day she'll come around and find me, i know
one day she'll come around and find me 'cause i know

when the sun goes down in this Allston town
with my head in my hand, hoping this will never end
i'll sit and wonder, wonder if i ever really wanted it

yeah, and i'll be gone
don't worry about me 'cause i'll be fine
don't worry about me 'cause i
i know there must be more than this

evil girl angry girl
aw are these my choices?
evil girl angry girl
the girl i want is just a myth

evil girl angry girl
aw are these my choices?
evil girl angry girl
the girl i want is just a...

Fortnight
Taylor Swift
The song 'Fortnight' by Taylor Swift and Post Malone tells a story about strong feelings, complicated relationships, and secret wishes. It talks about love, betrayal, and wanting someone who doesn't feel the same. The word 'fortnight' shows short-lived happiness and guilty pleasures, leading to sadness. It shows how messy relationships can be and the results of hiding emotions. “I was supposed to be sent away / But they forgot to come and get me,” she kickstarts the song in the first verse with lines suggesting an admission to a hospital for people with mental illnesses. She goes in the verse admitting her lover is the reason why she is like this. In the chorus, she sings about their time in love and reflects on how he has now settled with someone else. “I took the miracle move-on drug, the effects were temporary / And I love you, it’s ruining my life,” on the second verse she details her struggles to forget about him and the negative effects of her failure. “Thought of callin’ ya, but you won’t pick up / ‘Nother fortnight lost in America,” Post Malone sings in the outro.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
