I can't meet
Losing sleep over this
No I can't
And now I cannot stop pacing
Give me a few hours
I'll have this all sorted out
If my mind would just stop racing

Cause I cannot stand still
I can be this unsturdy
This cannot be happening

This is over my head
But underneath my feet
Cause by tomoroow morning I'll have this thing beat
And everything will be back to the way that it was
I wish that it was just that easy

Cause I'm waiting for tonight
Been waiting for tomoroow
I'm somewhere in between
What is real
Just a dream
What is real
Just a dream
What is real
Just a dream

Would you catch me if I fall out of what I fell in
Dont be surprised if I collapse down at your feet again
I don't want to run away from this
I know that I just don't need this

Cause I cannot stand still
I can be this unsturdy
This cannot be happening

Cause I'm waiting for tonight
Been waiting for tomorrow
And I'm somewhere in between
What is real
Just a dream
What is real
Just a dream
What is real
Just a dream
What is real just a dream

I think this song is pretty simple to understand. I know I feel the way he does. Sometimes you just wish everything would work out, that you'd find the answer in a night...but in reality it could take a lifetime. And sometimes we wish that what is real...would be a dream..because we can wake up from dreams...but you can't wake up from reality.

.. someone very special to me told me that this song detailed the pain of getting over someone. I don't know how she saw that, but if someone can elaborate, please tell me.. because it was the last straw for her in a very delicate relationship that ultimately collapsed..

To me, though, the song is about love. About a love so strong that you can't believe that you're "losing sleep over this." You pace, pace out of a fear that she's hurt (odd circumstances that week), and pace out of disbelief of yourself. That this love can't be this strong. Just give me a few hours, and maybe I can sort this out..

"'cause I'm waiting for tonight. Been waiting for tomorrow." You've been waiting forever, and to find it now? Is this real, or just a dream.. ?

Sara, I'm sorry that I hurt you..

to me this song is about a love that has fallen apart. He simply cannot believe that its over. Thinking maybe he can figure it out, but he begins to realize that he can't. As the song goes on he is starting to believe that this is happening, and he begins to pray that hes just dreaming and he can wake up from it and embrace his love again. Similiary if you've ever seen the video for hemmorage by fuel its like that. Well at least thats what i think this song is about.

...this song has very special meaning to me. I think it's about a broken love. A relationship that was once so perfect, but is so broken now, he can't believe it. it's about the pain of love, the way when you're with somebody for so long, and things suddenly end, you eventually break down. they're all you think about, you lose sleep trying to figure out a way to work it out, and when you realize that it can't be worked out, you wish it were a dream. You try to tell your self that you don't need to worry about it, it's done, and you wish with all your heart, that things could go back to the way they used to be, before they came into your life, but it's not that easy.... that's what i think the song is about.

I agree with the majority of posts...I strongly believe this song is about the downfall of a relationship. It describes perfectly how I felt the night my boyfriend (whom I loved very much) broke up with me. It's a song about pure disbelief and finally realizing that it's over...and having no clue when things will get better again...

    Or if they ever will...

yeh i can see why everyone thinks it's about love... but some parts of this song, make me think so bad about how i feel a lot of the time - about having problems that you can't find the answers to, add just wish that you could go back to feeling the way you did - go back to being happy... but thats just my own personal meaning

This song may be about love, but it's about love of God and/or Jesus. Lifehouse is a christian band and their songs are about God and Jesus. Although, I have related it to a love in my life. It was just in a dream that I had about a girl that I have liked for about 2 years now. In the recent months past, I have actually grown to love her, I think so anyway. Well, the dream was just that she and I were dancing close together and slow in a very dimly lit room and this song (Somewhere In Between) was playing. It was very cool. It's like, I wish this were real, but it's just a dream ("What is real, just a dream."). Thanks.

I read in an interview with the guy from Lifehouse that he wrote this for his friend's girlfriend who he liked, and thought he'd treat her better and everything. When he played it for her, they started going out. They're married now.

Before my girlfriend and I got together, she had broken up with this guy. I'd been head-over-heels for her for years even though she was dating him. So they broke up, and I was like, "Man, if I don't make a move now, I may never get a chance." I was always friends with her but never really could get a step further. So I started taking her out to dinners and stuff. She was a little bit on the rebound, but I think she had some feelings for me. We were at that point where we weren't sure if we were dating or not, or even if she really liked me in that way. It was a very vulnerable time for me and that's when I wrote "Somewhere In Between." I poured all those feelings into the song. Then I played it for her and that was it - we were together

I read that on a web page, the lead singer said that is what this song means. Seems to me thats the way I see it to.

I think its all about something that you aren't sure about. Not that you can't get over a love, but that you can't decide what to do about it. Like should you go? or should you stay? You feel like you really don't have control but at the same time you know that its solution is in your hands but its just not that easy. You feel like you're in between what is real and what's a dream.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer

In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri

This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.
