If I had another chance tonight
I'd try to tell you that the things we had were right
Time can erase the love we shared
But it gives me time to realize just how much you cared

Now you're gone, I'm really not the same,
I guess I held myself to blame
Time can erase the things we said
But it gives me time to realize that you're the one who's sad

You know I won't hold you back now,
The love we had just can't be found
You know I can't hold you back now

Now that I'm alone it gives me time
To think about the years that you were mine
Time can erase the love we shared
But it gives me time to realize just how much you cared

You know I won't hold you back now,
The love we had just can't be found
You know I can't hold you back now

You know I won't hold you back now,
The love we had just can't be found

You know I can't hold you back now,
The love we had just can't be found

You know I can't hold you back now,
The love we had just can't be found

You know I can't hold you back now,
The love we had just can't be found

the way they sing this is beatiful, sad but shit like this, happens.. its ggreat I think the lyrics pretty much speak for itself, the person realises how much his other half meant to him only at the very end, where things are irreversible. agrees totally that she was the one, but knows she's moved on, no way back now

great great song. so sad and so true. sometimes you just have to let someone go no matter how hard it is for both if you.

    Memory

I heard this song on the radio today and I started having some serious "Dark Crystal" flashbacks - the nostalgia almost made me cry. It must have come out around 1982 or so?

This song always hits me in the pit of the stomach. To loose someone and know that there is nothing you can say or do to change that outcome. It makes you a stronger person, but harder for people to get through to you. Life is quite the journey.

Won´t hold you back! is due to is everlasting change or changed... and won´t happen again! either is heaven on due time or it won´t happen again the same because love is like that it can´t be found and is only found in God in Jesus Christ like a Father to a son. Love is like that or marriage

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
