And now I dedicate this song to my, uh, 'best friend'. Bollocks is she my best friend. Every time we have an important exam coming up she isolates me and never tells me her grades. She so easily jealous and the most fucking whiney character I have ever met. So fucking self obsessed. She bitches about another friend of ours but then goes and tells her things she would never contemplate telling me. She can go and FUCK herself, the stupid, self absorbed BITCH.

Ok, I'm an aspiring writer and this is EXACTLY how I feel right now. I KNOW what this song means: It is simply feeling really ruthless and determined about getting what you're working towards. It when you've told everyone around you that you're going to be successful one day and you'll go to any extremes to prove yourself right.

Brand New Eyes seems to be about how Paramore were on the brink of breaking up but just managed to hold it together. This is how I see it:
Careful, Ignorance, Playing God, Brick By Boring Brick - These songs are representative of how the band was falling apart; bad relationships with each other, rivalry etc. Turn it off really shows how the band fell into the abyss.
The only exception - this is the turning point. Things start to improve.
Feeling Sorry, Looking up, Where the lines overlap - Paramore are ready to rock again! They're just getting started!!!!
Misguided ghosts - This is the point of reflection. Looking back and thinking about what they have learnt from their experiences.
All I wanted -This song seems to highlight the underlying issue behind the bands issues. Which may or may not have something to do with Josh and Hayley's relationship. |

I think it's about reflecting and reminiscing about the past, what you've done with your life and the mistakes you've made. It's quite an introspective song. For me, the roads and travelling metaphor describes life and the "we just go in circles" just shows how we, as humans, never learn our lessons and we make the same stupid mistakes in our life again and again. |

This song is blantantly about unrequited love.I never understood this song until I experienced unrequited love myself. I think the constant references to animals and insects is deliberately self deprecating ( it's a bit like creep in that sense) and shows how inferior you feel to the brilliant person you've fallen in love with and I guess it also shows how irritating you can be to the beloved. Especially when you sometimes desperate for their attention (I'm the next act waithing in the wings").
