Aerosmith – Back In The Saddle Lyrics 3 months ago
All of the above. Sure it was about sex, but it was absolutely written more about Heroin. It's what Joe Perry admitted he was on when he wrote the riff, and if I recall correctly he was with Tyler. Horse - Heroin, Dry tongue, side effect of heroin withdrawl, Sukee Jones - Groupie on tour he can trade heroin with for sex and/or that knows where to procure it, up all night, high having sex with Sukee Jones, ridin high. shining up my saddle again, it's commonly referred to with heroin injection, shining up the spot you inject just like the dr. does with a swab. Sex was the secondary interest in this song.

Tom Petty – Learning to Fly Lyrics 2 years ago
@[Arcata1:39236] That’s what came to my mind first after he disclosed his addiction. People always take what these are to say in their books as the absolute truth. The reality is their business and they’re trying to sell records. They’re going to describe a truth that is most palatable for the public in their image.

Led Zeppelin – Celebration Day Lyrics 3 years ago
@[IsmAvatar:35045] Plant was very influenced by the Black Delta Blues. To this day, he speaks about it live, as it obviously weighs heavily on him that they made a lot of money playing songs that poor blacks born from slavery in the South wrote and created. I don't know Robert, but I've read enough and heard him speak enough to say with some certainty that he feels he owes quite a bit of his fame and fortune and refuses to play those particular songs the way that Led Zeppelin produced them.

He mainly has toured with a band based on Massive Attack and Portishead and a couple of his old band mates. Every time I've seen him since they 80's he's changed the way the Zep songs were played radically to suit his current taste and themes. It's why he's one of my favorite artists of all time. He does recognize and regret playing his part in larceny. He can't quite pay it back outside of the legal suits against the band, but he tries to educate his fans and pay proper respect to the roots. And, he always puts on a damn good show.

It's a Russ Ballard Song, Santana did not write it. I figured the same thing.

Led Zeppelin – The Crunge Lyrics 10 years ago
You are dead on brother, all of it but I can almost assure you this was never meant for an album but it was just too damn good to put in the archives so they used it for a time fill on side A. The most versatile rock band in history, there was nothing they didn't reach on all ends of the spectrum. Even their throw away tunes were treasure in 1973, that was their peak.
