I was just thinking "yesterday" was happy and my "tomarrows" all look pretty dark. Anyways thanks for helping me see the rest of the song. So I've been looking at what other people have said about the story/ meaning of this song and some of you said it's about a lady who lost her husbend and she is fighting depression and thinking of suicide and she is talking to her husbend's ghost, others of you said it was about an old couple and she has alzhiemers, I even saw some say it was about/ related to a girl who has schizophrenia and it's her boyfriend trying to bring her back from one of her "episodes". I think that all of those make tons of sense and are right but I finally decided that this song is about being trapped in your own head and being unable to escape. It's also about the people/ person that loves you enough to be able to watch you suffer and stay with you as you try to pull yourself out of that prison. The person (or people if your so lucky) that are trying to save you. |

I agree that it's about coming out of depression, but there is more to it than that. It's about the person/ people or things that you hold on to in order to get out of the depression. I have been depressed for a little more than a year now and I despretly cling to anything that makes me happy. It makes me look kind of obsessive but, I love orange (the color) so almost every thing I own is orange, I'm absolutely in love with Fall Out Boy (the band) so I listen to every song they have everyday, I'm a very very loyal friend, there's alot. That's what this somg says to me. |
