Red Hot Chili Peppers – Veronica Lyrics | 1 year ago |
To ke it sounds like he’s singing about the games we play vs one another as genders (classically speaking). Guys saying what they want to get what they want from women; and these broken women falling for the same tricks over and over again. More profound than I thought it would be. |
Red Hot Chili Peppers – The Heavy Wing Lyrics | 1 year ago |
The song appears to be about John’s return; and his embracing the unrelenting chemistry between them. So much heart in the chorus, and the guitar work is certainly the best on the album. Multiple layers and riffs make this the most robust and satisfying song on this album. You can also see some of the influence in the lyrical writing between John, Anthony, Flea, and Chad. . John, so glad you’re back. |

@[Athanasia930:44268] agreed. A bit melancholy. Like embracing , but fearing the inevitable…and being hopeful of being that couple one day. |

Aside from the “pussywillow” line, which sounds like “this push will o-beyyyy”, I dig it. Concur with the comment by Athanasia930. |

Project 86 – Firefly Without a Night Lyrics | 1 year ago |
@[ScamRansom:43451] I hit submit too quickly. To add to the detail, the promises will either be kept, but most likely be broken by the majority if the masses, and so it will provide this firefly the light they need to shine…with the majority failing to live up to their promises. You see, fireflies need pitch black to activate their luminescence. Without the sunlight completely gone, they cant ignite. So the broke promises are likely to provide the firefly with the clearest setting fly brilliantly. In other words, we will fail…over and over and over and over… |
Project 86 – Firefly Without a Night Lyrics | 1 year ago |
Appears to br about god speaking to his followers. How he breaks down how their promises will be his light, I think speaks enough volumes to justify said theory. |
Idles – Never Fight a Man with a Perm Lyrics | 2 years ago |
This song is funking awesome. Joe explains: a critique of toxic masculinity and a rallying cry for men to address the dangers of toxic masculinity and what it really means to be a man. Joe Talbot, the lead singer of the band, has described the song as a critique of masculinity, as well as a personal exposure to his past behavior when he was younger and involved in fights and such scenes.\n\nIn other words, don’t start shit with a “sissy”…they’ll probably fuck you up you bullies. |
Babe Ruth – The Mexican Lyrics | 2 years ago |
PER the band, the song is based on the perspective of the Mexicans who marches into the Alamo to take down them Texans. The old movie, The Alamo, w John Wayne depicts the Mexicans as robotic while the Texans are portrayed as self-righteous as is Hollywood. However the band thought it was unjust and wrote the story of Chico Fernandez who is just trying to get by before he is called into war, unsure and uncertain if he’ll make it back to his senorita. Such an incredible song. It’s also the most sampled song of all time. *FACTS |
Thrice – A Branch in the River Lyrics | 2 years ago |
This sons if AWESOME! Certainly sounds like a song tied around the faith in either Christ or a higher power that is in control always. Very profound and my favorite on this album. |

Red Hot Chili Peppers – This Ticonderoga Lyrics | 7 years ago |
The Ticonderoga is their boat and the ride they are taking is life. All of the ups and downs based along the rocky waves. Not the best lyrically, but the switching tempo and hard rock element make this one of my faves on the album. |
Red Hot Chili Peppers – Dreams of a Samurai Lyrics | 7 years ago |
Sounds like it's about Scott Weiland (tour bus reference). RIP. An obvious reflective piece. Unique track for their record. Not my favorite, but definitely the most lyrically innovative on the album. |
Red Hot Chili Peppers – Out of Range Lyrics | 13 years ago |
In my perspective, the best song ever created by anyone, anytime! It's definitely a tough one to decipher as many here have tried. It definitely ties into both love and addiction. I choose addiction of love. Think of when you are with someone you love an you are attached to them. You feel addicted to their mere presence. They complete you and provide that natural high. Maybe to Anthony, it reminded him of the heroin high he used to get. Longing for something/someone you know you can't have makes him yearn for that feeling to want to be with them. Only he knows in reality what he's trying to say. The beauty of music is that people interpret it and relate to that interpretation. If you've been in love with someone you met out of town, or have ever been an addict, this song speaks to your heart. Embrace it, love it, and more importantly, jam to this amazing musical masterpiece!!! |
Calexico – Inspiracion Lyrics | 13 years ago |
An amazing song if you understand spanish. It's one of those songs that only speaks to your heart in Spanish. Basically, it's a breakup song. It's about someone striving hard to get over their first love. They go through the world seeking that same innocent feeling of that first love; only to realize that they can't find it and will never get over that person they loved ever so dearly. So they try to come back into their lives changed for the better. Only that person is telling them that it's too late to have changed as they are over them. OUCH! lol |
Red Hot Chili Peppers – Runaway Lyrics | 14 years ago |
This is a breakup song. He's laying down the process of a girl breaking up with him. Listen to the lyrics from the bridge and he's explaining that he's afraid to hear the words that he knows are coming. The words being, "it's over". He's been in denial about his relationship even though his intuition is telling him that the girl does not love him and wants it to end. |
