THIS IS BY FAR THIER BEST SONG AND THEY ARE MY MOST FAVORITE BAND EVER SO I HAVE HEARD ALMOST ALL THEIR SONGS!!!! BUT ANYWAY I BELIEVE THIS SONG IS ABOUT SOMEONE DOING SO MANY BAD THINGS TO HIM TO THE POINT WHERE HE JUST WANTS TO RUNAWAY AND LEAVE!!!!!!!
To me, it means that he maintains his composure and doesnt show his love towards her, but he starts to runaways from his composure and starts showing his love for her, running from his responsibilities and showing his love no matter what. or so that might be

This is a breakup song. He's laying down the process of a girl breaking up with him. Listen to the lyrics from the bridge and he's explaining that he's afraid to hear the words that he knows are coming. The words being, "it's over". He's been in denial about his relationship even though his intuition is telling him that the girl does not love him and wants it to end.
