Okay...just my 2 cents...for what it's worth (even though I love this song). A couple of posters think something bad happened to the Granddad and the Dad, but that wasn't my take on the song. The granddad killed the revenue man (that's why he never came back from Copperhead Road). When Dad went down to Knoxville for a weekly load, the Sheriff came around and burned down the still. So the son, becomes an entrepreneur...using his brains and foresight to grow weed. Like I said, just my take on the song. |

| Good comments by all ... they had another decent song (a remake) called "Let it All Hang Out"....quality tune that ranks up there with the Butthole Surfers song "Pepper". Love all kinds of music (except classical), so this song is very good. | |

First off, Y&T is probably the most underrated band ever (and probably miscategorized). They were labeled as a "metal band" when they are probably more just "rock" or "hard rock". But they are incredibly talented, as opposed to pretty boy bands that came later. As far as this song, I believe it is about a couple, and the man is dumping the woman because she can't get rid of the memories of an older boyfriend. |
