Sentimental Fool Lyrics

I've seen this movie once before
Story of another broken heart, yes
Can't play the same old part again
No, I can't, I'm left empty
Looks like we nearly reached the end

Sentimental fool
You know you didn't do me right
Sentimental fool
Now you've got to pay the price

How did you think that we could last
With expectations of an old romance? Oh romance
You had to risk our love on sentiments, oh baby
But this time, don't come running back to me
You'll be a memory

Sentimental fool
You know you didn't do me right
Sentimental fool
Now you've got to pay the price

Sentimental fool
You know you didn't do me right
Sentimental fool
Was it worth the sacrifice?

Sentimental fool
Now you've got to pay the price
Sentimental fool
Can't play that same old part again

Sentimental fool
Can't play that same old part, that same old part again
(Sentimental fool)
No, you, baby, no, you can't do this to me again
(Sentimental fool)
Oh baby

Cover art for Sentimental Fool lyrics by Y&T

First off, Y&T is probably the most underrated band ever (and probably miscategorized). They were labeled as a "metal band" when they are probably more just "rock" or "hard rock". But they are incredibly talented, as opposed to pretty boy bands that came later.

As far as this song, I believe it is about a couple, and the man is dumping the woman because she can't get rid of the memories of an older boyfriend.
