The Used – Greener With The Scenery Lyrics 13 years ago
I don't know if anyone's realized this before, but I believe there's some "artwork" in the song titles, especially this one which follows right after "Blue and Yellow" on the album. Bert once said this song was for Quinn, about their friendship in a loving way. What seems too obvious is that one would be blue, the other yellow, and together, they are green, thus "Greener with the scenery" which follows right after. It makes me think about "greener on the other side", that "green" is associated to something better, more complete, joyful.

It's not "the clue that came to you" but "conclusion came to you". I have the master tracks and it's more clearly audible.

Bigwig – Your-in Sample Lyrics 16 years ago
This song to me means 1999 to me. This song means my first sex partner, also means "Said it would be forever That you'd never go away" you know how it goes with your first relationships. This reminds me since then I've been for the first time out of sex for so long: 3 months and a week.

Silverchair – Emotion Sickness Lyrics 17 years ago
@telegram: could be. I thought it was more like:

"sacrifice the tortures" (the tortures of leaving everythng inside, thus having to orchestrate when he'll fall in tears, "Orchestral tear-cash flow"). Although I'm still unsure about the "cash" part of it.

Another point no one brought up-> "Won't you stop my pain" ? I've always thought and sang along to it as "Won't you starve my brain" cuz upon buying the tab book, that's the lyrics that were there. I've been trying to hear the "stop" and "pain" instead, but even on some live versions, it seems more obvious he's saying the starve/brain instead.

Nirvana – About a Girl (Box Set version) Lyrics 18 years ago
I just love the angst in his voice, and also notice that unlike most material he recorded pre-Bleach, his voice sounds like what it was on Bleach. "I do live in constant fear" -> I thought this represented his general fear of his relationship ending with Tracy but it might be the fear of being cheated as she goes out (I'm feeling bad, but you say I'm right so you don't have to admit to yourself you're abandoning me in these hard times so you can just go out, I can't see you every night free). Anyways, Kurt was so awesome!

Muse – Knights of Cydonia Lyrics 18 years ago
@st3ven: that's exactly what I thought the first time I heard it. There's alot of parts on the album that remind me of Freddie Mercury, and also some parts U2 (strangely), in the song Invincible. This album is so great. At first hearing I was somewhat decieved, maybe because my expectations were so high, but after a couple of spins I can't let go of it. Only song I can't get hooked to is Starlight, yet.

Isn't "Just to find to my reasons" wrong ? I thought he said "Justify my reason(s)", but I may be wrong.

Muse – Escape Lyrics 18 years ago
Thanks to TheMuse97 for pointing out this is about his dad, would've never guessed. One of my favorite lines is "I'll take back all the things that I said", how often have we felt the same (not only towards our parents) like "now I regret all the times I made you feel good by seeing this or that now that I see how much of a jerk/bitch you can be".

Panic! at the Disco – Build God, Then We'll Talk Lyrics 18 years ago
@B12: the singer doesn't write the lyrics nor does he have a book corner on the website, it's the guitarist who does (Ryan Ross) and not Brendon Urie.

Well, everyone's pretty much said what I thought it was about and what I didn't know about too.

Panic! at the Disco – Lying Is the Most Fun a Girl Can Have Without Taking Her Clothes Off Lyrics 18 years ago
@Panic! DiscoFever: That was the most sensical analysis I read so far. Great logic. These songs are so fuckin' good.

By the way, I believe he refers to the romance novels when saying "harlequin girls", moreso because it's the most used reference usually. Anyways, that's what came up first to my mind, and harlequin as the "romance novels" kinda girl describes more things, because these types of girls are pretty much all "love at first sight" stereotypical innocent characters, with dreams of a charming prince whose intentions would surely not be physical.

Muse – Plug In Baby Lyrics 18 years ago
I think the video justifies those who mentionned the plug-in baby to be illusory love/fantasy whatever through your PC, cuz I don't think the bottom part are like robot tentacles but just to illustrate their digitalness, like at the beginning of the video when you see a girl in the screen. And the guy (in the video) is so obsessed that he sees them as real, but then you see those same girls but with their grey tentacles, like in the bath and on the bed, etc...
I really don't think it's gotta do with his guitar, although it could have been plausible. I think Matt Bellamy has more depth in his lyrics than that. He's a genius.

Unwise – Smoggy Lyrics 18 years ago
This song is about being too obsessed by TV reality actually, and not caring about what really goes on with your real friends/family/entourage. That's why he sings lines like: "Would I have more respect? On the screen of your TV", which pretty obviously means, "Hey, am I not worthy just for who I am? Do I have to actually be on your tube to get your attention?"

Nirvana – Spank Thru Lyrics 18 years ago
As someone pointed out, it appeared on Fecal Matter demo in 1985, not too sure, but I got that version and it sounds pretty much pre-Nirvana, although they were already named Nirvana, I mean, their younger style.
