Cover art for The Stars Look Down lyrics by Rush

Like the fly on the wheel who says "What a lot of dust we're raising." Like the rat in a maze who says "Watch me choose my own direction." The lyrics cut two ways. One is indignation of asserting self importance where none exists and the other is the in the grand scheme of things self-importance is the grand illusion. In the end it matters not and does not affect the final outcome. We are all born the same and we all die the same. Everything else is just the tapestries we either inherit, earn, or leave behind.
