I agree with the suggestions that the subject wishes to withdraw from typical society--even to regress to our more primal roots, as far back as our sea-dwelling ancestors.

I think virtually everyone beyond the age of 20 or so has at some time come to the realization that the more you know, the more complex and tiresome life can feel. Personally, I sometimes still wish I could retreat back to my more innocent, naive state of mind as a child. No politics, impending disasters, harsh realities, etc. Ignorance certainly can be bliss.

I'm not suggesting it's the "correct" interpretation, but it's what this song means to me. It has a borderline introspective theme to it, and I dig that immensely.

My Interpretation

@dunstonchecks That's pretty cool. I think it's also interesting to think that boats often dock at harbours because it's safer there... In this case, the safe place is away from people and civilisation. That's got to say something about how he feels in society!
