I think it's about wanting to get away from your suburban life,
"some satellite town and there's nothing you can do",
some do it by dreaming about different life ,or by living in there mind in a "different world".
You can go out and live the life you always dreamed about , or you can stay in the "old world" of english traditions...
"You might live in a screen kiss, it's a glamorous dream
Or belong to a world that's gone, it's the English disease"
