Cover art for Sahara lyrics by Nightwish

I agree with the comments about the connections to the desert life and greek mythology. I enjoy these times where ancient mythology has been placed in Nightwish songs. I am not an expert with mythology, and had to look up what Elysian Fields were, they are a place where heros and virtuous rest in death. To me this song is about someone running from the violence and problems a person faces in the world (horizons swarming with death) to a far away remote place (the desert) and even as he tries to flee his problems they tend to follow him, and in the end this person finds rest in death. Thats what it means to me.
