I just don't like Frehley's voice. It's always so emotionless. It's almost ruined some really good songs, like this one. He's just not a singer. The main singers in KISS are Gene and Paul, and there's a reason for that.
@Sportsnut Im curious if you ever heard his cover of "New York Groove". It's one of the few hits from the KISS solo LPs, and it's success inspired him to strike out on his own. He did rejoin the band for at least a few reunion shows, tho.
