"Clear as Day" was released on October 4, 2011 and is a track on the debut album by Season 10 American Idol Winner Scotty McCreery. The album includes other hits such as, "I Love You This Big" and "The Trouble With Girls".
"Clear as Day" is an account of a boy who loves a girl, and how a party ended any chance they had of being together. The song opens by telling the listener that the school sports team had beat East Lincoln County, which is a first. He describes the way she looks, saying she was "glowing in the tan you'd got that summer". Ricky Bowman, presumably a kid on the sports team, throws a party, and the boy and the girl both attend. Upon his arrival, the boy walks up to the girl and she gives hims hug. Soon after, they sneak off and share a kiss. Time passes, and he walks her to her brothers car. The boy says that the girls brother seemed okay when he got behind the wheel, hinting that there was alcohol that had been consumed at the party. The brother promises the boy he will call tomorrow, but the boy reveals that that call never came. He said that their accident was blamed on the fog and pouring rain, when in fact, the brother was intoxicated to the point that he crashed the car, taking the girl and the brother's lives.
