Crystal Eyes Lyrics

With crystal eyes she gazes
Like a desert flower
In the morning rain
She's well aware of every promise made
She's a child of light in a world of pain

Oh let her be free, Holy Zion
Give us eyes to see
Something to rely on

Crystal eyes, I still love you
You're my one desire
Crystal eyes, I can't live without your touch
You are my crystal eyes

Crystal eyes, she don't say much
But she sees right through
Your thin disguise
You'll never know she comes and goes
Slips through the veil of the dead of night

Oh let her be free, Holy Zion
Give us eyes to see
Something to rely on

Crystal eyes, I still love you
You're my one desire
Crystal eyes, I can't live without your touch
You are my crystal eyes

Crystal eyes, she's an angel
That fell to earth like a gift from God
Sweet, serene, skin like cream
My love protects your every thought

Oh let her be free, Holy Zion
Give us eyes to see
Something to rely on

Crystal eyes, I still love you
You're my one desire
Crystal eyes, I can't live without your touch
You are my crystal eyes

This song is really amazing. Starts out slow and ends really powerful and full of energy. I'm surprised there's not more comments! I love the lyrics too, they're great.

Theres a religious theme to this song. most evident with the repeated plea to holy zion. When i was young that didnt mean much to me. In modern times Zionism is hard to avoid. In my opinion the child of light refers to lucifer. Let her be free is a call to let lucifer be be free and reign. Im not sure why lucifer is referred to in the feminine for, and as crystal eyes. There may be more hidden layers to the crystal eyes name. The lyrics are even more obvious further on with an angel that fell to earth. Again reference to lucifer. In summary the song pretends to be a ballad of love for an earthly person but in reality is more like a pledge of allegiance to lucifer. I cant help wondering if the band came up with this themselves. Or where the real inspiration was.
