This song is so sad. I know exactly how he feels when he says "I had a chance to spend my last days with him But I chose to turn away, blinded by reality"

it really is sad, but it's definately a good song...but what I don't understand is why he blames himself for his death, does it have anything to do with turning away from him? Does he feel guilty because he thinks he could have changed it?
