I think Eric Bachmann was probably in some trendy bar, surrounded by emo-kids with Spock haircuts and tight shirts, and penned this song out of disgust. Fashion defines the scene in a lot of cases. And that is sad.
I couldnt disagree more. I think what he's aying with this song is that most fashionable people, (ie shouting from cars, in trendy bars) would flcik ashes on (metaphorically speaking) on the heads of teenagers trying to play something creative or different. I think the song in general is sayign fashin bleeds out diversity, through random attack on whats different pretty much.

maybe not even neccasary fashion all together but the people doing something orignal and creative are getting shit on by everyone else who just use an already made idea to get on top and make lots of money and they flaunt it through fashion and excess and acting like a big shot haha maybe i said what you guys already said
