this is from his "from the inside" album n he wrote it when he was in a mental alylum and it almost seems to be about 2 personalitys. or its about the obvious... 2 people in the asylum who love each other so much it drives them crazy. thats what i think anyway
I think these two were crazy before the asylum, as they cut up her late husband Donald and sealed him up in baggies, cause love makes you do funny things.... I think this is a great song, cause if you listen to how actually pretty the song is, you almost feel sorry for Millie and Billy
This is probably my favorite love song of all time.
Basically it's about this couple Millie and Billie who were already married when they met and became lovers. They ended up killing eachothers spouses so they could be together. Now they're homocidal lovers in the asylum.

Yes, it's definitely about 2 crazy people in an insane asylum. I htink i agree with the interpretation that the love made them crazy and homicidal. I wish i could remember what Alice said when i heard him talking about this song!!!
i love this song! I especially love the fact that because it was his first album after he came out of the asylum, all the characters ion the songs are based on real people that he met! I hink it gives the song that disturbing edge (as if the lyrics didnt anyway) that makes you stop and think hang on a minute there really are people out there like that...
