i think smoking popes are/were really underrated. they're so catchy and good and sexalicious.
it's just about how he wants to live his life before he is tied down to someone. He's expressing how there is so much he has yet to do in this world before he needs to be devoted to another person. However, it's pretty obvious anyway.
i think its about him wanting something serious and proposing to this girl. who's scared of commitment and is in denial over it. the song seems to be a bitter recount to what she told him when she turned him down. it at least has to be about loosing someone you love because you are afraid of getting hurt
