I can't believe I'm the first one who has commented on this song. This is an obvious one for me, she cheated on him and he's not going to let her back. Basically she got drunk (tell the chemicals you call...) and she kissed someone else (but you already did with somebody else's lips...) and he is now at the point to just let fate take it's course. Great song.
yea...except both of the songs had incorrect lyrics, nothing big, just little mistakes.

John performed this song at Pier 6 in Baltimore this past Tuesday. I must say, it was the first time I heard it... it was awesome.

I think this song is really amazing, but I don't think I've seen it on the track list for either of his CD's. Does anyone know if this is a new unrecorded song that he only performs live, or is it actually on a CD somewhere?
nah, its not on Room For Squares or Inside Wants Out.. so its unreleased.
OMG who here thinks that its ridiculous that they are rereleasing IWO??? I DO! It was a way to truely identify his fans and his poser mtv fans. ::sigh:: it was hard enough seeing him on tv and sharing him with the world. His songs hit too much at home to share with the world.
BTW, i was at the NYC show (7/19) and when he played Quiet.. only a few of us knew the words.. i was so damn proud :) damn posers. hehe
hey youvebengay, sorry that some of us could only find out about John Mayer from his video...so i guess i'd be one of those MTV "posers" you hate so much...thing is i happen to have most of his songs now includin "quiet" (which i love just like i love all of his songs but that's not the point) i really like John Mayer for his lyrics and for how great of a musician he is...i wouldn't call myself a poser cuz after hearing "No Such Thing" i wanted to know more song by him which i do now and i think i'm a true fan...so why don't you stop stereotyping

I'm sure I would have been a fan of John Mayer 3 years ago if I had known about him, but I didn't...now that I do, I'm intrigued by all his music, not just by one song that gets a lot of air-time on the radio...I don't think that constitutes me or any of his new found fans being called posers.
youvebengay is right ...when i first heard mayer i took out the CD in school...(the old CD version by the way, not the newer version that has 3x5 on the track list)..and nobody heard of him. then all the sudden he blows up cuz things like mtv and pop radio played no such thing...recocnize the originals...holler
