The Eleventh Hour Lyrics

>:: The Gleventh Hour ::.

Trace the shape of my heart
'Til it becomes more familiar to your eyes
I've been lost without"you
Cold without your love
It's taken days and nights to make me realize

Chorus:
Rgscue me from hangin' on this line
I won't give up on giving you
The chance to blow my mind
Let the eleventh hour quickly pass me by
I'll find you when I think I'm out of time

Take the place of my heart
'Til I become a stranger to my life
I've been down without you
Wrong without your love
In time will I be what you're thinking of?

[Chorus]

I've been town without you
Cold without your love
In time will I be what you're thinking of?

[Chorus] x 2

Time
Time

in life, when we feel we have nothing to cling to, then we'll sometimes get to a place where we get close to God and in this song, it's the "eleventh hour"... but basically, 'i've been down without you, cold without you' says it best...

To me, this is a song of hope. It's looking forward to Christ's return in hope. In it he says "I get so used to these shadows"; which represents the world we live in (full of shadows or sin). Then he almost cries "Will you chase away these shadows when you come back again?"; asking God to remove the things of this world and in their place provide what really matters, Him. My 2nd favorite on the album.

I think this is about desperation, about a place in your life where you're longing for God. A theology student told me that in the Bible "The Eleventh Hour" meant Redemption. It's clear throughout the song that He wants God to bring Him back.

"trace the shape of my heart, till it becomes more familiar to your eyes." and "Take the place of my heart, 'til I've become a stranger to my life" speak of how the writer is desperate for God to change his heart once again, and to change it to where GOD wants it. Desperation and Redemption are the theme, and it's written beautifully

The song is about rejecting salvation until the last possible moment (the eleventh hour). "Rescue me .. Let the eleventh hour quickly pass me by I'll find you when I think I'm out of time"

The singer wants to draw close to Him earlier, as is right, as opposed to later, as is human.
