Die Laughing Lyrics
Gimme something to breathe
Give me a reason to live
Close your eyes and see
What you had inside
I think I've gone insane
I can't remember my own name
I think I've gone insane
Now the dream has gone
And your friends just tell you lies
Then you realize
You gonna try anyway
I think I've gone insane
I can't remember my own name
I think I've gone insane
I can't remember my own name
I think I've gone insane
I can't remember my own name
I think I've gone insane
- Guitar solo -
Lost in a world with no reality
I'm frightened to move
I'm frightened to speak
and I would kill for a good night sleep
I'm feeling, I'm feeling dead, dead, dead, dead
I think I've gone insane
I can't remember my own name
I think I've gone insane
I can't remember my own name
I think I've gone insane
I can't remember my own name
I think I've gone insane
I can't remember
I can't remember
I can't remember
I can't remember
Give me a reason to live
Close your eyes and see
What you had inside
I can't remember my own name
I think I've gone insane
And your friends just tell you lies
Then you realize
You gonna try anyway
I can't remember my own name
I think I've gone insane
I can't remember my own name
I think I've gone insane
I can't remember my own name
I think I've gone insane
I'm frightened to move
I'm frightened to speak
and I would kill for a good night sleep
I'm feeling, I'm feeling dead, dead, dead, dead
I can't remember my own name
I think I've gone insane
I can't remember my own name
I think I've gone insane
I can't remember my own name
I think I've gone insane
I can't remember
I can't remember
I can't remember

I believe its about not enjoying life on the road. With lines like "I would kill for a good night's sleep". I remember when Troublegum was released Andy Cairns on the evening session saying it was based on an old irish story: "A man goes into the doctors with depression after trying every pill and therapy the doctor says the only thing left to suggest is for his patient to see a clown who makes everyone in the town laugh. Then the patient says I am that clown." I guess this was related to Andy being exhausted on the road and getting use to stardom (and your friends just tell you lies). Despite this he was making lots of people happy. I also remember at the time Steve Lamacq saying it ounded like hardcore REM which Andy took as a huge compliment .
it's "and then you realise, you're gunna die anyway'
best therapy? song
great song which depresses me very hard
Its the description of a scary mushroom/LSD trip where its terrifying, reality is no more and there is a possibility of dying from laughing so hard. Maybe?
this song is fun to play on guitar too
