Do You Remember Rock'n'roll Radio? Lyrics
Do you remember Hullabaloo,
Upbeat, Shindig and Ed Sullivan too?
Do you remember rock'n'roll radio?
Do you remember rock'n'roll radio?
Do you remember Murray the K,
Alan Freed, and high energy?
It's the end, the end of the 70's
It's the end, the end of the century
Do you remember lying in bed
With your covers pulled up over your head?
Radio playin' so one can see
We need change, we need it fast
Before rock's just part of the past
'Cause lately it all sounds the same to me
Oh-oh
Will you remember Jerry Lee, John Lennon, T. Rex and Ol' Moulty?
It's the end, the end of the 70's
It's the end, the end of the century
Upbeat, Shindig and Ed Sullivan too?

this song is aboot how we took the 70's and all the fun time in that decade for granted and this song is a remembrance of how we should have appreciatted those years more even tho everyone was stoned or fucking or doing something stupid during those years. a decade of wasted youth and social rebellion with the rise in the porn industry and the majority ofsex drugs and rock and roll.
yes yes... we all know ramonesare basically bringing back the 50's rock style which is so awesome by the way...... and they are trying to kepp rock and roll alive but everything started going disco cough disco sucks so much ass
this song isn`t about how we took the 70's for granted, it's about how rock was dying out to disco by 1979, which is when this song was released. they are talking about famous bands that were the roots of rock and hoping they will be remembered. this song is great, definitly one of the best pop songs around.
watever, belive wat u wanna believe!!! this song rulezz! hehehe
It means "Do you remember when music was good, and kicked ass?"
Another song I've really connected to in this past few years with this onslaught of bad bubblegum pop and wannabe punk bands.
THE GABBA GABBA HEYS ( A TRIBUTE BAND0 CHANGED THE LYRICS IN THEIR VERSION FROM IT LATELY SOUNDS THE SAME TO ME-E YEAH YAEHA
TO "IT LATELY SOUNDS LIKE MTV"
A lot of people define 'great' bands as the ones whose songs stay relevant. On that basis, the Ramones would be one of the greatest ever for writing a song that's more relevant now than it was at the time.
I, for one, remember ...
