Pagan Purity Lyrics

One with the earth, pave my way through the green
From above I stare down at (the) crowds
There by the oaks, I'll honour the roots and the clouds
With trembling hands I feel my pure life deep within

Deep, deep colour of the leaves awakes me
Deep, deep colour of the sky…

Then all the fowls stay silent
And the leaves end their fall
Suddenly I realise
The earth is breathing with me and I cry...
she is now my beloved bride

I am one, sole inheritance and yield
To myself the pageantry of being lonely,
I'm fit to be called a son of the minority,
Glad to be seen as an offkey in thy foreseen tune!

Bridge: fathomless wailing of the wind awakes me
It takes me up into the sky…

Pre: Then all the fowls stay silent
And the leaves end their fall
Suddenly I realise
The earth is breathing with me and I cry …

Besieged by the boundless grandeur of these greenclad heaths
Could I swallow deep within of Mother Nature's seed
Branches pleached and berried bushes and that lonely tree
To this oak wood I bestow my pagan purity!

One with the earth pave my way through the green
...from above I stare down at crowds
By the oaks I'll honour the roots
...from above I stare down at crowds

Besieged by the boundless grandeur of these greenclad heaths
Could I swallow deep within of Mother Nature's seed
Branches pleached and berried bushes and that lonely tree
To this oak wood I bestow my pagan purity!

hahahahha thats really funny i think it's talking about the sacred wedding, heiros gamos. it's a mythological idea that says that a human and a deity have sex, the deity in this case being the oak. another idea of heiros gamos is that the sky and earth have sex and it makes the crops grow. it just seems to make sense because the narrator talks about looking down at everything from the sky and "swallowing deep within mother nature's seed"

Just to get the ball rolling on this one, I think the song is about...er...a Pagan losing his virginity to an oak tree? Haha, seriously. Either to an oak tree, or to a forest spirit. Not sure which.

Lmao "a Pagan losing his virginity to an oak tree" Jesus that made me laugh >.< Maybe your right though. Unless he's doing some kind of ritual with the oak tree to bestow his Pagan Purity. But I'll just stick with the Oak Tree Porn idea 'cause it's hilarious \m/ good one with that. ^^

Other than that, awesome song. Folk Metal ftw!!11!1

Mother Earth, Father Sky. Their offspring is life.

That explain it well enough?

Hmm, I think it's just about being a badass pagan dude free from pretentious modern ideals, as well as being one with nature and letting it permeate your being.

The earth is breathing with me and I cry... she is now my beloved bride

Might refer to a ritual of some sort, but I think it's probably the idea of, again, being one with nature.
