More Life In A Tramp's Vest Lyrics
i get camping eyes in the final hour
last minute shoppers pickin cauliflour
the fuss they make
you'd swear they were buying a car
they always moan
moan it's not so cheap
cheaper still
cheaper still down the street
loose my rag and tell them take your bag
and shop down there
closing down
they're closing down another road
one way system steals the show
mac the knife swigs a can and sings the day away
theres more life more life more life in a tramp's vest
theres more life more life more life in a trapms vest
flower man sits down in the street
surrounded by
stock he brought back last week
bring back the ladies wearing lipstick on their teeth
make up
we make up a crappy joke
sit back
relax and have a smoke
mac the knife swigs a can and sings the day away
theres more life more life more life in a tramps vest
theres more life more life more life in a tramps vest
i get camping eyes in the final hour
last minute shoppers picking cauliflour
mac the knife swigs a can and sings the day away
theres more life more life more life in a tramps vest
theres more life more life more life in a tramps vest
last minute shoppers pickin cauliflour

I think hes saying to himself ,fuck me, what a sad bunch of sad fucks, go get stoned, or sumthin like that. He's thinkin, god its a cauliflower for christs sakes, grab the first one you see, it not that important. if you dont like the price buggar off and shop somewhere else. He cant be assed with all the moaners and groaners.
He thinks you should just chill out and relax, its like all that fuss and stuff its no wat to live your life, you're just putting up a fuss over nothing. Are you really goin to care about that califlower 6 months down the line? NO! but a car you woul thats where the: "you'd swear they were buying a car" comes in.
You see he reckons you should just sit back, have a drink and be lazy for once, chill out!
The "theres more life more life more life in a tramps vest" line...well i'll let you figure that out for yourself!
kelly used to work on a fruit and veg stall on aberdare market. he got really pissed off with all the old women and the moany people who are there every week going on about the same old thing. it just sums up his thoughts and his experiences. i think it shows that the stereophonics are not afraid to admit to their backgrounds and dont forget the days when they were like the rest of us like good valley boys!! WALES LOVES U 'PHONICS
this song reminds me of happiness. I absolutely love stereophonics for their original lyrics and unique melodies. I don't quite understand this song, but I can't help but smile everytime I hear it.
what the hell does this song mean?? Is he like a casher or something??
Thanks, PJ Ladd!!! LOL...
wow pj ladd is sooo good. this song fits perfectly in the video.
just to let u kno mac the knife's a Jack the ripper type character
It's somebody working in a fruit and veg stall or a supermarket , he's tired of being there and everything's annoying him. People fussing, roads closed down, and everything else. And he's bored of it and he's saying more life in a tramp's vest...meaning tramp's have a more interesting life than he does, or something.
"Kelly: I worked in the market for six years. I was in college and worked there at the same time just to get some money. You could be sitting there til five o'clock and you could guarantee you'd be dead for the two hours before that but as soon as you just about to close up twenty people would walk in and that would really wind me up and I'd want to kill them and that's where I got the idea from cos that's when the last minute shoppers come in. It was going to be 'Last Minute Shoppers' and then it was the phrase 'More Life In A Tramp's Vest' came from when the markets went really quiet when big stores came into town and pedestrianised streets and the trade just went away when it used to be a major trading point. It comes from there" I got this from a website.
I went to see them last year and this song rocked! They are really good live. This song is about people who get all caught up in stupid things (like cauliflowers).
