Let me take you down
'Cause I'm going to Strawberry Fields
Nothing is real
And nothing to get hung about
Strawberry Fields forever

Living is easy with eyes closed
Misunderstanding all you see
It's getting hard to be someone
But it all works out
It doesn't matter much to me

Let me take you down
'Cause I'm going to Strawberry Fields
Nothing is real
And nothing to get hung about
Strawberry Fields forever

No one I think is in my tree
I mean it must be high or low
That is you can't, you know, tune in
But it's all right
That is, I think, it's not too bad

Let me take you down
'Cause I'm going to Strawberry Fields
Nothing is real
And nothing to get hung about
Strawberry Fields forever

Always, no, sometimes think it's me
But you know I know when it's a dream
I think, er, no, I mean, er, yes
But it's all wrong
That is I think I disagree

Let me take you down
'Cause I'm going to Strawberry Fields
Nothing is real
And nothing to get hung about
Strawberry Fields forever
Strawberry Fields forever
Strawberry Fields forever

Man, the line, "Living is easy with eyes closed Misunderstanding all you see," is so amazing. This is so true when you think about how easy life is when you except things only superficially and don't utilize inquiry, but living life that way is not really living. I think the rest of the song has to do with the struggle of staying true to oneself and confusion of who that is "It’s getting hard to be someone" because there are so many road blocks in life; Loneliness: "No one I think is in my tree", confusion: "I think I know I mean a ‘Yes’" and it so easy to go back to our old ways, which are easier in the moment, but don't really make us happy. I think there might be some implications to drugs, but I feel that it has more to do with being lonely and wanting someone to escape the hardships of life because of the phrase "Let me take you down, ‘Cos I’m going to Strawberry Fields. Nothing is real" that is repeated three times throughout the song. Despite the obvious drug implication there is this struggle to take the easy road or hard road, which is good in the long run, but takes more to get there.
