Out of the Silent Planet Lyrics

Perfect peace
Mountains robed in glory
Coming into view
Father speaks
Son becomes the story
Essence of all true

I saw what cannot be seen
She spoke to me
Take what you've learned, set it free
See what you'll see

Flowing power
Waterfall of wisdom
Flawless bold commands
Masterpiece
written o'er the vision
by the perfect man

I saw what cannot be seen
She spoke to me
Take what you've learned, set it free
See what you'll see

Living martyr
Truer than the seasons
No more place for lies
Cast a seed
Push aside the reason
Reign of terror dies

I saw what cannot be seen
She spoke to me
Take what you've learned, set it free
See what you'll see

Cover art for Out of the Silent Planet lyrics by King's X

This is one of my favorite King's X tunes. It rocks, has cool lyrics, and the "wall of sound" vocals will make you say "wow, I've never heard anything like that before!".

"out of the silent planet" was a book by C.S. Lewis, about a man named Ransom who was sent from Earth (the so-called "silent planet") to another planet to save it from evil, which had escaped the Earth without permission from the Master of the Universe.

Especially considering that the song is named after a C.S. Lewis book, it seems to me that this song contains some Christian imagery. Father=God, son/the perfect man/living martyr=Jesus. "I saw what cannot be seen" could mean seeing/finding God. The last three lines may describe the ideal world, perhaps something like what the world would be like after the second coming?
