Seasons In The Sun Lyrics
Goodbye to you, my trusted friend
we've known each oth'r since we were nine or ten;
together we've climbed hills and trees,
learned of love and A-B-C's,
skinned our hearts and skinned our knees.
Goodbye my friend, it's hard to die,
when all the birds are singing in the sky;
now that the spring is in the air,
pretty girls are ev'ry where;
think of me and I'll be there.
We had joy, we had fun,
we had seasons in the sun;
but the hills that we climb
were just seasons out of time.
Goodbye, Papa, please pray for me,
I was the black sheep of the family;
you tried to teach me right from wrong,
too much wine and too much song,
wonder how I got along.
Goodbye, Papa, it's hard to die,
when all the birds are singing in the sky;
now that the spring is in the air,
little children ev'ry where,
when you'll see them, I'll be there.
Goodbye, Michelle, my little one,
you gave me love and helped me find the sun;
and ev'ry time that I was down,
you would always come around
and get my feet back on the ground.
Goodbye, Michelle, it's hard to die,
when all the birds are singing in the sky;
now that the spring is in the air,
with the flowers ev'ry where
I wish that we could both be there.
All our lives we had fun,
we had seasons in the sun;
But the stars we could reach
were just starfish on the beach.
we've known each oth'r since we were nine or ten;
together we've climbed hills and trees,
learned of love and A-B-C's,
skinned our hearts and skinned our knees.
when all the birds are singing in the sky;
now that the spring is in the air,
pretty girls are ev'ry where;
think of me and I'll be there.
we had seasons in the sun;
but the hills that we climb
were just seasons out of time.
I was the black sheep of the family;
you tried to teach me right from wrong,
too much wine and too much song,
wonder how I got along.
when all the birds are singing in the sky;
now that the spring is in the air,
little children ev'ry where,
when you'll see them, I'll be there.
you gave me love and helped me find the sun;
and ev'ry time that I was down,
you would always come around
and get my feet back on the ground.
when all the birds are singing in the sky;
now that the spring is in the air,
with the flowers ev'ry where
I wish that we could both be there.
we had seasons in the sun;
But the stars we could reach
were just starfish on the beach.

I love this version of "Seasons in the Sun" - Me First rock
I've never heard this band's version, but I've heard the original and it's a nice but sort of depressing song :-( I'm 98% convinced the whole meaning behind it is the circle of life for obvious reasons. It would be a surprise to me if the meaning is anything else besides death. JMO
i love this song. i lost a very good friend recently that id known for almost my whole life and it describes just the way i feel - "with the flowers everywhere i wish that we could both be there" perfect p.s. kick ass cover
this song is just about a guy dying and talking to all his loved ones and telling them his fondest memory with them. i personally like westlifes version better.
