I think this song is about the singer's frustration with the apathy and inattention of someone he knows.
The chorus might very well be mocking the person the song is about, quoting them-- pointing out the person's general neglect.
This song makes me think about authoritarian parents... "Please don't question me, I don't have the time/ If there's a problem, then it's easier to set aside"
It also makes me think about past relationships where the ex is just a shell of him/herself.
