A Penny For Your Confessions Lyrics

Is it that she fears the crosses that they will burn? left to sift
through the ashes of her loved fragments of flesh as these grains slip
right past her fingertips. I'm left to watch you smile as i bleed myself to death, as she prays to hear the voice of her savior once again, to wipe the tears of venom off of her face. What gave her birth? She spits
her fears into the cancer of humanity, as her hopes and dreams descend
down to her knees, your perfect heaven has become my hell. In the
parting of their loves, a victim of hate who has yet to be born, but
ready to endure the pain instilled within its birth. What the whispered
words never replaced. And left to sift through ashes of these fragments
of flesh, as these grains slip right passed her fingertips. It slips.

to me this song means someone who has lost faith in a relationship, and the other person still has a hold on the love thet the other doesn't believe in anymore, the song to me is an illusion to religion, and how yo can seem so alone at times, even though you love someone, like the first line, the girl is afraid to love in fear that it will fall apart

I think skycamefalling51s is pretty close in his interpretation of this song. The song appears to be about two lovers parting ways, but one of them still having feelings for the other. Also, as skycamefalling51s said, it seems to be using religion as an illusory device to further explain the relationship. The line "I'm left to watch you smile as I bleed myself to death" hints that the one lover is suffering immensely at the loss of his/her partner, but the other lover doesn't seem to care, and in fact, seems to be happy without them, even after knowing how badly they're suffering. The lines, "your perfect heaven has become my hell" and "as these grains slip right past her fingertips" seem to hint at the same indifference at their parting/the one lover's suffering as a result of it.
