Sadly Sings Destiny Lyrics

A wooden cup and a crown of thorns
Will set up the stage for the cross
I rent a room next door
There is nothing more
No further voices to hear
I'll be free

It doesn't matter anymore that someone's knocking at my door
I've known it long before the Galilean's on the floor
Shame on me, shame on me
I'm a tool and nothing more

I can feel it's getting nearer
Images they'll turn out clearer
Creeps in and out of your mind
I'm destiny personified
I know there's something more behind
But is it really justified
To sacrifice, to crucify
The rescue of the human kind

Sadly sings destiny
Sadly sings destiny
"For ages I've been waiting
Now spring is in the air
Let it in"
Sadly sings destiny
Sadly sings destiny
"For ages I've been waiting
Now spring is in the air
Let it in"

I hear them howling hear them scream
The raging mob turns mad it seems
"The king's in town
We need a crown"
I think we all know how it ends

"So we're not going take it longer"
So all I know is I don't care
"So we're not going take it longer"
Now we are aware

I can feel it's getting nearer
Images they'll turn out clearer
Creeps in and out of your mind
I'm destiny personified
I know there's something more behind
But is it really justified
To sacrifice, to crucify
The rescue of the human kind

"For ages I've been waiting

Let it in"

There I tie the ass
There I tie the colt
Begging for a last chance I hear the voices say
"We get him home tonight and that's all you need to know"
I'm alone

So I can't stand it any longer
And don't want to see it all
Nazarene, your vision will come true
Will come true
They'll get you

I can feel it's getting nearer
Images they'll turn out clearer
Creeps in and out of your mind
I'm destiny personified

It seems to be about the cruxifiction of Christ. Beyond that, I'm clueless as to what it means. Cool opening though

And I think that is about tax-collector (forgot his name) that follow Christ since Galilea and wrote everything he said, maybe he is "tool and nothing more" because he only write. And I think, that Juda is often character and in song about him will be something about murder or 30 coins and such stuff - so...

I think the song is about how poor Judas is. It is his destiny to betray Jesus, thus opening the way for the death and rebirth of him. So he is just a tool to fulfill the plan.

So it's his destiny to be a sinner and he can't escape it.

I think it's Pilate questioning before he executes Jesus

I personally think it's from Judas' point of view, as many of the lines fit that idea.

'It doesn't matter anymore that someone's knocking at my door I've known it long before the Galilean's on the floor Shame on me, shame on me I'm a tool and nothing more'

after his realization that what he did was just make him more of a pawn

'I can feel it's getting nearer Images they'll turn out clearer Creeps in and out of your mind I'm destiny personified I know there's something more behind But is it really justified To sacrifice, to crucify The rescue of the human kind'

him being 'destiny personified' relfects how Jesus told him he would betray him, and the second half is him asking himself and those around him, is it really worth it to kill Jesus to save humankind?

'Begging for a last chance I hear the voices say "We get him home tonight and that's all you need to know" I'm alone

So I can't stand it any longer And don't want to see it all Nazarene, your vision will come true Will come true They'll get you ' That is Judas pleading with the guards and the heads of the Jewish council, giving his money back and everything and being denied, and the second part is him giving up on life, getting ready to kill himself, and his last words to Jesus. And there, his part in the song ends and the chorus takes back up, which is what actually happens.

I think it's pretty clear that this is about the idea that Judas didn't have a choice in betraying Christ. The betrayal needed to happen to complete the ransom / fulfill prophecy. Christ told Judas in advance that Judas would be the one to betray him. And when it came time for the betrayal, it says that Judas was possessed by Satan. Rather than being the greatest sinner in history, by this view he was a tool, a necessary evil in a scheme much bigger than himself.

It seems clear that this song is Judas being haunted by visions/voices/demons/god pushing him towards his unavoidable destiny.

It's probably from Judas' point of view.

From some of the lines, it's clear it's from several points of view throughout the song. Firstly "I rent a room next door" "Shame on me, Shame on me, I'm a tool and nothing more" could be the un-named soldier that broke his side with the nail-ended spear.

Another possibility, though it is doubtful because of the 'rent a room next door" line, that it was Pontus being used as a tool as well.

Perhaps that's the intention. Pontus Pilate, that Centurion, and Judas were all tools in one way or another.

I think that it is about Judas' feelings during the Crucifixion. His guilt and his shame at having sold out his former master and teacher.
