I'd Really Love To See You Tonight Lyrics
Hello, yeah, it's been a while
Not much, how 'bout you?
I'm not sure why I called
I guess I really just wanted to talk to you
And I was thinking maybe later on
We could get together for a while
It's been such a long time
And I really do miss your smile
I'm not talking 'bout moving in
And I don't want to change your life
But there's a warm wind blowing, the stars around
And I'd really love to see you tonight
We could go walking through a windy park
take a drive along the beach
Or stay at home and watch T.V.
You see, it really doesn’t matter much to me
I'm not talking 'bout moving in
And I don't want to change your life
But there's a warm wind blowing, the stars around
And I'd really love to see you tonight
I won't ask for promises
So you Don't have to lie
We've both played that game before
Say I love you, then say goodbye
I'm not talking 'bout moving in
And I don't want to change your life
But there's a warm wind blowing, the stars around
And I'd really love to see you tonight
Not much, how 'bout you?
I'm not sure why I called
I guess I really just wanted to talk to you
And I was thinking maybe later on
We could get together for a while
It's been such a long time
And I really do miss your smile
And I don't want to change your life
But there's a warm wind blowing, the stars around
And I'd really love to see you tonight

haha, i always thought it said "i'm not talking about the linen", i.e-bed linen, that he didnt necessarily mean getting together for sex, just to see each other and see where that takes them.
Yes, great song for a romantic night. I also think the couple in the song were in a relationship before, and for whatever reason, they broke up. But obviously they parted on good terms since he feels he can call her up for a friendly chat. There must be some spark still there and he just wants to see her again, hang out and maybe see how things go. Nice and relaxed and the perfect easy listening love song.
And it should be "...warm wind blowing the stars around" in the chorus, I think.
I always thought it was "there's a warm wing blowing the stars around"
As did I. It's much more evocative than the actual line.

Here is a guy who just wants to give this gal another try and he wants to take it much slower this time... no pressure, no great expecations, he just wants to date her again and see if it can work.
Another Great song with no comments? Amazing. Simply Amazing.
I personally don't have a meaning for this song. I only say that I love it.
I love this song. I listen to it sometimes when I'm feeling nostalgic. I think it's about a pair of people who haven't seen each other in a long time who want to catch up for old time's sake, and perhaps even start a relationship. But this relationship isn't the goal, as referenced by the chorus. The people just want to meet each other.

"We've both played that game before say I love you, then say goodbye." Aww..
@l0vefool This is one of my favorite lines ever.. So true.

The song begins as one side of a conversation on the phone. He doesn't want to move in, or change her life (probably meaning get married). This is literally a Booty Call from the 1970's. But it's sweet, he clearly misses her. And I think it is "stars around", which has a nice poetic sound to it, and I interpret the two of them as being the stars getting warmly blown around toward each other. Also it's a nice straightforward arrangement, slickly produced with strings and soft rock guitars.
@OJWay You are 100 percent spot on here. Especially the phone reference.

Also, I think that the pair may have been in a relationship previously, but they broke up. It also seems to be a really romantic night when the person was singing it.
