Yep, it's about how the people of the western world just blindly sit by and indulge themselves in their own little lives with minor problems, rather than look beyond it. The song is a sarcastic statement by the government/authority, praising us for being indifferent and malleable, allowing them to get away with what self-serving bull**** they like.
