Warriors Of The World United Lyrics
Waiting in the night, to hear the battle cry
All are gathered here, victory is near
The sound will fill the hall, bringing power to us all
We own the right to live the fight
We're here for all of you
Now swear the blood upon your steel will never dry
Stand and fight together, beneath the metal sky
Brothers everywhere, raise your hands into the air
We're warriors, warriors of the world
Like thunder from the sky, sworn to fight and die
We're warriors, warriors of the world
We said we would return, and here we are again
To bring them all destruction, suffering and pain
We are the hammer of the Gods
We are thunder, wind and rain
There they wait in fear, with swords in feeble hands
With dreams to be a king, first, one should be a man
I call them out and charge them all
With a life that is a lie
And in their final hour they shall confess before they die
Brothers everywhere, raise your hands into the air
We're warriors, warriors of the world
Like thunder from the sky, sworn to fight and die
We're warriors, warriors of the world
Gather my horse and weapons, tell my family how I died
Until then I will be strong, I will fight for all that is real
All who stand in my way will die by my steel!
Brothers everywhere, raise your hands into the air
We're warriors, warriors of the world
Like thunder from the sky, sworn to fight and die
We're warriors, warriors of the world

I guess you have to be a long time fan of the band to understand there work. Some of you got bits of it right. It goes like this. Man O War brought themselves up by the bootstraps so to speak. They were mistreated by other bands when they started and lables kept passing them by. So they did what few in the music industry can do. They built their status up by producing their own stuff until they were noticed by a lable that stuck with them. Also along the way it been a staple for them to insert little reminders to the other groups that gave them a hard time ( groups like metallica) into their songs. In warriors of the world the remark "I call them out and charge them all, with a life that is a lie" is that reminder. It's also a duel meaning, because it has to fit meaning of the ssong overall.
Now we get to the overall meaning of the song. Man O War writes their music to the tune of fantasy warriors. Always has and always will. So there is the setting, but not the meaning. This song was written to back the Iraq coalition. Man O War and several other bands (like Iced Earth), did this from 2002 through 2004. The song (although fantasy in nature) is about standing behind the troops that went to Iraq. Man O War has always been a big backer of the U.S. armed forces and this was a tribute to them and their allies. As a side note, they (along with a few other metal bands) gave permission for the the allies to use this song on PA systems when going into battle. Sounds kinda hokey but the effect is quite good. It seems to really scare the beejesus out of armed resistance when you have a C 130 gun ship strafing you and blaring out warriors of the world at the same time.
All you have to do is go to a Man O War concert to hear them speak about it. Personaly because of both the meaning and the sound of it, It's my favorite song of their's.
As to the backing of the military, this is very true. I ordered a few of their albums from their website when I was in Afghanistan. I guess they noticed it was an APO mailing address and got an email from one of their Customer Service, letting me know they knocked 5 bucks off my order and sent me a bunch of stickers and such. They are my favorite band ever. Thank you MANOWAR.

Uhh... They're talking about a "war" between "True Metal" (Them) and false metal (everyone else). It's kind of ironic because a lot of people think Manowar is the cheesy hairband of Heavy Metal.

This was the first Manowar song I listened to. It brought a grin to my face I couldn't wipe away. The cheese levels are through the roof. Plodding metal that cuts to spoken word in the middle of the song with medieval foppish music is so completely awesome and amusing.
Manowar are 4/5 pure amusement for me with the remaining 1/5 being their ability to rock out. I pray that this band doesn't take themselves even vaguely seriously.

This song is so cheesy, bombastic and stupid you cant help but to like it.

this song is great i always dream about fuckin being in the darkages when anarchy... and just the thought if dragons actually did live and it was a fight for everythign fuck i wanna live in a D&D world (no i am not a word dragons are gay but the undead and shit like taht is kick ass magic and shit)

dude, so you are calling Iron Maiden, In Flames, BLACK SABBATH, JUDAS PRIEST false metal? That makes sense you fucking dolt

Heheh. ShadowClutch. You are silly. WHY would they be singing about how they are the only band that is "True Metal"? After all, it's called Warriors Of The WORLD United, NOT Warriors Of THIS BAND United. Damn, even the first LINE contradicts what you say. "Here our SOLDIERS stand, from ALL AROUND THE WORLD", which I assume means, people from all around the world, NOT the band members. And if it was about how they are better than the rest of the metal bands, why the hell would they say "There they wait in fear, with swords in feeble hands"? Last time I checked, the majority of metal bands dont run around with swords starting wars. I could go on, but I will cut to the point. This song isn't a metaphorical penis enlargement to Manowar, it's a HOMAGE to the true soldiers in the Medievil Times who fought for all that is true and righteous.

If you think this is actually meant to be "a homage to true soldiers in the Medieval times" I have to remind you that in mediveal times the USA did not exist to those "warriors", and the world was rather samll and flat :) I wonder why Manowar are always having US-flags on their covers... Anyways, this is a great song as long as you don't take them serious at all. Love it, reminds me of some "true friend" :)

The FALSE metal is what is concerned with bands like motley crùe ( in the early years ), poison and so on. Another song, "Kings of Metal" is the true anthem against those "wimps" bands.

whoops guyz I post the comment in the wrong song section . Don't mind. I will post it in "Metal Warriors".
