Held On By Wires Lyrics

dance slow now, sugar
the view is spectacular here, tonight
there he goes exploding all the light
in one fell blow

hitting planes down
hitting planes down
hitting planes down

'cause everyone, they're robots
with their heads held on by wires
who are we? who are we?
'cause everyone's duct taped and tied
pin stuck, but look how happy
who are we? who are we?

don't go inside
the band is terrible here, tonight
sit by me and jump off this balcony
in one fell blow

twenty floors down
so fast and loud, clothes flapping
and we're smiling
'cause everyone, they're robots
with their hearts wrapped up in wire
who are we? who are we?
'cause everyone's duct taped and tied
pin stuck, but look how excited

who are we? who are we?

Cover art for Held On By Wires lyrics by Kill Hannah

this is the most beautiful song ever made. its about two teenagers, feeling out of place in ths world. they see everyobody else as "robots with their heads held on by wires", and constantly keeps on questioning "who are we?" they are lost, trying to find their identity, but they are not like everybody else. in the end they commit suicide. "sit by me and jump off this balcony", is an invitation to escape this world, and to live in peace. to not having to care about identity and finally feeling it place. "twenty floors down so fast and loud, clothes flapping and we're smiling" - the suicide. they jumped from the building, their clothes are flapping because they are surrounded by only air in the jump. but they are happy. free and careless, together.
