I think this song is about the need to succeed in the entertainment industry. Adoration only comes with being number one, and don't we all just want to be adored? The lines like "the spark in our eyes is digitized" are saying how manufactured it all is - on the one hand, you want so hard to be on the top, but on the other hand once you're there it's all asthetics. I also think he was being a little cheeky with the line "aren't we all ladies and gentlemen"
