Psychotic Break Lyrics

I feel the fear take hold
Reside in darkness, thrive where most won't go
Adrift, I curse this gift and hope you never know

Feel like a psychotic break, I'm in a hole
Snap into my force, punching holes in dry wall

Feel like a psychotic break, I'm in a hole
Talking of my dead friends whose love was long gone

I feel the fear take hold
Reside in darkness, thrive where most won't go
Adrift, I curse my gift and hope you never know

Feel like a psychotic break, I'm in a hole
Snap into my force, punching holes in dry wall

Feel like a psychotic break, I'm in a hole
Thinking 'bout my dead friends whose voices ring on

This is very dark and grungy however very easy to listen to to. It has a very spoky rythm. It could possible about his anger about the death of Layne. (Thinking 'bout my dead friends whose voices ring on)

@thrashgrunge4life This was written before his death. I normally would never say a song takes on new meaning after a person's death. However, I will make an exception for this one.. that last line hits differently after his death for sure, and I think Jerry would agree.

Awesome song, but i think its "coming on" not "I'm in a hole"

It is "comin on" and I think the song is about Friends of Jerry dying. Like Layne Staley and others. He is saying that is making feel so angry he just might break.

another correction: its "snapping 2 x 4's" instead of "snap into my force"

I've heard Anger Rising and don't think much of it, but I think this song is decent. The riff is pretty repetitive like a few Alice in Chains songs, and not what I expected though. The vocals are okay, but I really hate the 'Snappin' two-by-fours..." line. The lyrics (of that line) are just terrible, and everytime he says them it sounds very amateurish.

this and dickeye are his two best songs i think. man when i bought degredation trip i had no idea what i was in for and i turned it up so fucking loud and this is teh first song on the album and cause of this song I was hooked on the cd for months and i still listen to it often.

The only thing that could've made this song better was if Layne Staley was singing it. Not that Jerry is a bad singer, but I wish this could've been an AIC song. Jerry kicks ass!
